Disadvantages of Not Owning a Mobile Phone
The notion of not possessing a mobile phone may seem an almost alien concept to many who could not imagine being without their own lightweight personal communication device but I managed for almost two years.
I became more difficult to contact and at times led an almost elusive existence on the fringes of society. I was a pariah amongst a perceived world full of people who could be contacted instantly. If I was not at home to answer then people could leave a message if they so wished but the process of communication became slower. The modern phenomenon of texting totally passed me by and the sight of people talking to themselves became a common occurrence. They were of course using their handsfree but as a non mobile phone owner and not aware of the majority of useful mobile phone accessories this took a while to establish initially.
